well, these icy shots are actually a few weeks old, and were taken before the great revelation that recently snowed upon us. (s.c.)

dont go together

and i know these shots don’t go together, so i was hoping that giant black line would separate them. i didn’t have enough shots to pair them with others. (i’d hate to be that kid)

It has been a little while since my last update. my poor neglected bloggy…  Well, I am back, and to make up for it – an extra large post!!  Several weekends ago, this area got an enormous wave of snow, something that is not normal around here. At the first signs of it (the frosty winds) I grabbed my camera and ran outside!  Now that I don’t live in the North I rarely see the white fluffy stuff, so it’s extra exciting. I snapped a few shots I liked and experienced my first completely numb index finger, numb as in it won’t bend to click the shutter! problem!  So, I ran my way down the line of semi-thawed working fingers, and when I got to my pinky finger, I figured it was time to go inside. banking it impossible to shoot with my left hand, pff.

I woke up the next day and on my way back from lunch ran into those crazy snowball-fighting kids. It was so cute and funny though, made me laugh.

So it was a fun few weeks, and one day we even had a Snow Day!  Yahoo!  it was great to have a break and cozy up with movies, cupcakes, and hot cocoa.

These next series of shots are from a trip about an hour north of here. A really awesome cave, which happens to be the biggest in the world! whoa!  Who knew that such amazing places could really be up the road from you. The whole thing was really fun and sometimes freeeezing cold. brrrr.  But it was just a great weekend with great company to top it off. I had a couple somewhat-unexpected visitors come and visit. foreign ones. to be exact.  teehee.

It was lovely to see them and lovely to get out and have some real fun. memorable to say the least.  it was great.   they were great.     : )

…ooh yes, lots of fun.  if you’ve never been, you must go.    and if you can’t go. .     google it!             .gigi’s cupcakes.

Yes I went on a trip to Nashville, Tennessee. My first time there!   I went with my new roommate and we had quite a delightful time as you can imagine. First, kindly dining at the best italian place ever created (ahem, Maggiano’s!) and also hitting up the cupcake bakery on the corner too. Making another pitstop and enjoying a few high rise views – it was a lovely night to enjoy Music City, U.S.A.   And although I was never a screaming fan of country music, it was really awesome to be in the middle of its core.  It was neat.  and new.

Started classes this week, along with other fun adventures like yoga. oh what fun i am going to have.                                                                                                     it’s like, my life.  mine.  i can do what i want.    whenever i want. who knew.

I like this. Can’t wait to do more and more. See and do and go. all new things.

i’ll be up up and away, so whatever.

I have been trying to keep a blog for about two years now. Ha!  It never really seemed to work out.. kinda like all of the hot pink princess diaries I bought when I was 7 – and attempted to journal all of my ‘top secrety’ secrets in. While they were ever so cute decked out in jewels with matching raspberry scented ink, I usually got to about page… umm, 4, and… the rest of the pages saw no pink ink.

This Blog will be different!   13 years later, here I am starting my life. This time for real, minus the frills and sequins. And as serious as I am about my new beginning, I am equally as serious about keeping this fun new photo bloggy blog. I am too excited.

I am a photographer. this we all know.  I dipped a bit into the business side – capturing newborns and children and some families. (my favorites always being the newbies)  And although that was a lovely experience, I always knew that that was Not for me, and that while I enjoyed capturing the beauty and essence of children, I only wanted it temporarily. It was fun.

i Moved away. away to college to major in photojournalism. I am starting this photoblog to help keep up with the people I left behind and also to document my new beginning and the steps I take along the way. This is something new and fresh, just like a lot of other things coming my way lately. Check back ever so often so you can come along too. :)

& i’ll end with a simple photo from a short hike in the Smoky Mountains
